Appointment of Registrar

THE COUNCIL of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani announces that the position of REGISTRAR of the University shall become vacant by 1st April, 2017.

THE UNIVERSITY

UENR is a public University established by an Act of Parliament, Act 830 of 2011, with a specific mandate to provide Higher Education with special emphasis on energy and natural resources and be a global centre of excellence in these critical areas. The University operates a multi-campus set-up and is expected to have campuses in Sunyani, Nsoatre, Dormaa Ahenkro and Kenyasi. Currently, two campuses, Sunyani and Dormaa Ahenkro are operational.

THE POSITION

The Registrar is:

  1. Secretary to the Office of the Chancellor, Council and the Academic Board;
  2. Responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the affairs of the University;
  3. The Chief Administrative Officer of the University under the Vice-Chancellor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

The preferred candidate must have:

  • A minimum of a Master’s Degree;
  • Not less than Ten (10) years post-qualification working experience and an extensive appreciation of the tertiary education sector;
  • Been a Deputy Registrar for at least two (2) years in a University or in an analogous institution;
  • Good writing skills, eye for detail; an appreciable knowledge of ICT and a good grasp of administrative procedures.
  • Considerable organisational, communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Unquestionable integrity, a high sense of morality, maturity and drive for sound and impartial judgment.

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT

The Appointment is full-time and interested candidates should be able to serve a minimum of FOUR (4) years  in office before attaining the compulsory retiring age of Sixty(60). The Appointment may be subject to renewal for another term of up to 4 years. Salary and Conditions of Service attached to the position are attractive.

  • Seven (7) copies of a detailed and up-to-date Curriculum Vitae;
  • A statement of up to THREE (3) pages in standard font size 12, in one-and-half line spacing, outlining the applicant’s Vision as a Registrar, for advancing the mandate of the University;
  • Names and Addresses of Three (3) Referees.
