Satellite, Weather and Climate Department

This department deals with the acquisition, processing and archival of Satellite data products using a direct broadcast reception station and the GEONETCast System. Using the data acquired, we develop visualizations and predictive models for natural disasters like fires, floods and droughts. We also organize training events and assist the scientific community in research using the archived data. The department also offers consultancy services in the utilization and application of processed data, enhancing the dissemination of data to relevant stakeholders and promoting national development.

High Performance Computing

The High Performance Computing Division of the Earth Observation Research and Innovation Center (EORIC) is responsible for computational processing of geospatial data (large datasets), CFD research and modeling and GPU computing.

Advanced Virtual Fire Laboratory

The Advanced Virtual Fire lab provides consultancy services on the use of AFIS-mobile to support farmers, governmental bodies like the Forestry commission, Ghana National Fire Service, and the National Disaster Management Organization.

Virtual Environmental Laboratory

The Virtual Environment Laboratory supports faculties in the University in the running of GIS and Remote sensing programs at the Bachelor, Master and Doctorate levels. It also manages processing software used in supporting students and researchers with laboratory work. In addition to these, the center offers professional training programs in the use of GIS/GPS for resource mapping and management as well as in Remote sensing.

Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS)

This division provides consultancy services in the application of UAS in the monitoring and management of real-time challenges such as illegal logging, oil spill mapping, illegal mining and similar. We also offer specialized professional training programs in the use of UAS in resource mapping. The department also provides consultancy services in the application and analysis of imagery from unmanned aerial systems.

Climate Informatics

This division focusses on Master and PhD programmes in the field of Climate Change Studies through the application of Earth Observation Technologies.
