Welcome Message by the Regional Minister

I do welcome you all to the Brong Ahafo Region, the region of choice in Ghana when it comes to the organization of conferences and summits. With a natural ambience of interspersed trees and a relatively serene environment, the Brong Ahafo Region continues to carve a niche for itself. The Regional Coordinating Council is proud to be associated with the International Conference on Climate Change and Sustainable Development in Africa (ICCCSDA) being organized by the University of Energy and Natural Resources. This is against the backdrop that governance and development is all about ensuring sustainable development within a climate friendly environment. Issues of Climate Change has gained global prominence and the earlier Ghana as a country and Africa as continent seek home grown approaches towards the adaptation and mitigation of the impacts of Climate Change the better it will be for the continent. Ghana and more specifically the Brong Ahafo Region are privileged to spearhead this all important step of knowledge co-creation and dissemination towards strengthening Africa’s Adaptive Capacity.

We offer our wholehearted support to ICCCSDA in 2017 and wish you a lovely stay in Sunyani, a city touted to be cleanest in Ghana.

Thank you
