Biography

George joined the University of Energy and Natural Resources as a Volunteer in September 2012 and was appointed in September 2013 as an Assistant Registrar in the Registrar’s Offices where he worked at the Quality Assurance and Planning Unit until June 2018. George was promoted to the rank of Senior Assistant Registrar in September 2017 and currently the acting head of the Academic and Students’ Affairs Division.

George holds a Master of Science degree in Development Policy and Planning with specialization in Social Sector Policy and Planning from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi and a Bachelor of Science in Tourism from the University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast-Ghana. George is currently in his final year pursuing PhD in Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg under the Wits-TUB Urban Lab Project.

George holds a Professional Certificate in Quality Assurance in Higher education (2014-2016) from the University of Duisburg-Essen, a scholarship under the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in the TrainIQAfrica Programme for quality assurance officers of public universities in Anglophone West Africa. He is among the 25 participants selected out of 200 applicants by the DAAD from South East Asia, West, South and East Africa, South and Central America and the Middle East to participate in the University Leadership and Management Training Programme (UNILEAD) from February 2020 –September 2020 at the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg, Germany.

George has participated in several training programmes in higher education management and quality assurance in Ghana and abroad and has acquired mid-level to senior management level experience in university administration. He has been appointed on several occasions to serve as Secretary to Search Committees for the appointment of top university managers in Ghana. He has also served as Secretary to several ad-hoc committees in the University such as the Strategic Planning Committee and the Dormaa Ahenkro Campus Commencement Committee. He has to his credit refereed articles, a book chapter and several position papers in university administration and in the field of planning. He has also served as the local President of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) since 2016.
