Biography

Prof. Adekoya holds B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D. in Computer Science, MBA in Accounting & Finance, and Postgraduate Diploma in Teacher Education. He served as a Data Analyst during the mandatory National Youth Service Corps programme from 1994 to 1995. Prof Adekoya joined the service of Lagos State College of Primary Education (Now Michael Otedola College of Primary Education), Noforija-Epe in 1995 as one of the two pioneer Lecturers in Computer Science Education Department. In 2003, he joined the service of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta where he rose to the position of Senior Lecturer and Acting Head of the Department of Computer Science. He joined Lagos State University as an Associate Professor of Computer Science in 2013 and served as the Pioneer Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator. He also relieved the Head of Department at various times. And in 2015, Prof. Adekoya joined the University of Energy and Natural Resources as an Associate Professor and Head of Computer Science & Informatics Department. He also has the oversight managerial responsibility over the University’s Information Technology Directorate.

Prof. Adekoya has published over thirty publications in refereed journals and conferences in Artificial Intelligence (Knowledge Management, Fuzzy Systems, Artificial Neural Networks, and Expert System), Sematic Web Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Security, Distributed Computing, Database Systems, and Computer Applications. His current research interest is focused on creation of intelligent data-driven systems in knowledge economies. He is a member of Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria, Nigeria Computer Society, International Society for Knowledge Observation, and the Information Technology Systems and Security Professionals. He has participated in many local international conferences, workshops and training programmes. He consults for a number of blue-chip companies and facilitated at several workshops on Information Technology Systems.

Prof. Adekoya has received some Research and Career Development Awards:

a.         UNU-IIST Travel, Accommodation and Logistics Support to Attend SOFTWARE ENGINEERING AND FORMAL METHODS. A 2-week international school and conference organized by United Nations University International Institute for Software Technology, Macao, China held at University of Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa between October 27th and November 7th, 2008.

b.         ICTP Partial Funding to Attend WORKSHOP ON RICH-MEDIA WEBCASTING TECHNOLOGIES FOR SCIENCE DISSEMINATION. A 9-day international school organized by The Abdus International Center for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy held at Adriatico Guest House, Trieste, Italy between December 3rd and 11th, 2007.
