“Miss Wilhemina Adoma Pels is a faculty member at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, School of Sciences, University of Energy and Natural Resources.
She had her Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She then proceeded to the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences for her second degree in MSc Mathematical Science and then KNUST for an MPhil degree in Mathematical Statistics in 2018. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph.D. programme in Mathematical Statistics at the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, KNUST.
She has served a two-year term as a Graduate Assistant for both the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science and the Department of Mathematics, KNUST, where she assisted in teaching Regression Analysis and Probability and Statistics. Also, she was a Research Assistant at the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Statistical Analysis, KNUST.
Her research area is Time Series Analysis, Extreme Value Theory and Regression Analysis. Her current research interest is Parameter Estimation for the Generalized Pareto Distribution.”
