Prof. Dr. Adebayo Felix Adekoya is a Chartered Information Technology Professional (CITP), the Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor of University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani, Ghana. He is also the Dean, School of Sciences in the University. He is an Associate Professor of Computer Science in the Department of Computer Science and Informatics and expert in artificial intelligence, software engineering, learning analytics and information systems. He obtained his B.Sc. and MBA from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye in 1994 and 1998 respectively, his MSc and PhD from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta in 2002 and 2010 respectively, and PGD Education from Lagos State University, Lagos, Nigeria in 2004. He is an alumnus of the DAAD-DIES International Deans’ Course and training committee member of the Senior University Management Training for Academics, NMT 2017-2018.

Prof Adekoya pioneered the establishment of the Computer Science Education programme and department as a young faculty at the then newly established Lagos State College of Primary Education, now Micheal Otedola College of Primary Education, at Epe, Lagos State, in 1995. He joined Federal University of Agriculture (FUNNAB), Abeokuta in 2003 as a Lecturer and rose to Senior Lecturer and Head of Department before transferring his service to Lagos State University (LASU) as an Associate Professor in Computer Science in 2003. He has been in the employment of University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani since 2015 and has served as the Head of Department of Computer Science and Informatics, Dean of the School of Graduate Studies, Acting Director of Information Technology Directorate, and Board Chairman of the Earth Observation, Research and Innovation Centre. He is currently serving as the Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dean of the School of Sciences and as well as member of the University Governing Council.

He has trained and worked with over 150 undergraduate and postgraduate students as their research projects supervisor, and has over 60 academic publications. He has designed (and co-designed) a number of software applications including Computer-Based Management Information System in Health-Care Delivery Institutions, Web-Based Tourism Information System, Career Advisory Expert System, Medical Expert System for Managing Tropical Diseases, Online trading portal among many others. He is currently working on a number of research studies in computing for sustainable development spanning health, energy, finance & administration, education and communication. He has participated in a number of workshops, symposiums, public forums, conferences and technical sessions at the state, national and international levels.

He is a Fellow and Life Member of the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) and member of NCS College of Fellows. He is a Fellow, of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC. He is a member of Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria, International Society for Knowledge Observation (ISKO), Information Technology Systems and Security Professionals (ITSSP), the Internet Society (Nigeria and Ghana), Institute of Directors, Ghana (IoD – Ghana), Information Technology Association of Ghana (ITAG), Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN), Ghana Science Association (GSA) and many others. He is currently Chairman, Board of Trustees, Computing Research Association of Ghana, member of the Information Technology Committee of IOD-Ghana and Vice-Chairman of Education Committee of Internet Society of Ghana. He is a recipient of a number of commendations and letters of appreciation, and as well as research grants and fellowships.
