Introduction
The School of Management Sciences and Law (SMSL) of the University of Energy and Natural
Resources was established on 1st August 2018 thus making it the most recent faculty of the University. One of the primary reasons for its establishment is the University’s focus on interdisciplinary pursuit of knowledge and scholarship in science, engineering, technology and the social and business sciences.
The School offers Degree and Diploma programmes in its two Academic Departments, namely Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Sciences and Department of Languages and General Studies.
The programmes offered in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Sciences include BSc. Resources Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, on both regular and weekend bases, and Diploma in Enterprise Management, on regular basis only.
The Department of Languages and General Studies on the other hand offers a BA in Professional French programme. It also runs the mandatory courses on communication skills and African and liberal studies for the entire University.
The School has 25 highly trained and experienced lecturers, of which 15 belong to the Department of Languages and General Studies, with the remaining 10 belonging to the Department of Entrepreneurship and Business Sciences. It is headed by the Acting Dean, Prof. Yaw Ofosu Kusi, with the assistance of a Faculty Officer and two Administrative Assistants.
