The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, has signed a memorandum of Understanding with Ecole Nationale D’Ingenieurs de Metz (ENIM) of France.
The Vice-Chancellor of UENR, Professor (Mrs.) Esi Awuah established contact with ENIM during her participation in the 2nd Ghana-France Education Conference in Paris in June 2014. This was followed by a visit from a delegation from ENIM on July 15, 2014 where they met with some faculty members from UENR’s School of Engineering and Sciences, School of Natural Resources and the French Department. The ENIM delegation was led by Professor M. Kondo H. Adjallah, the Director of International Relations, ENIM.
The MOU signed between UENR and ENIM seeks to promote development of joint research, dual and joint degree programs, technical assistance, and staff and student exchange programs between the two institutions.
Professor Mrs. Esi Awuah indicated that since UENR students offer French as a compulsory course, the collaboration with ENIM is timely and would immensely open up opportunities for UENR students to undertake exchange programs at ENIM. She was also hopeful that faculty members of both institutions would take advantage of the cooperation established and develop joint research and other relevant academic programs.
Also present at the MOU signing ceremony were the Pro Vice-Chancellor of UENR, Professor Daniel Obeng-Ofori, Mr. I. Abebrese, Dean of School of Natural Resources, and UENR’s coordinator for the activities under the MOU, Dr. Nana Diawuo, Dean of School of Engineering and Sciences.
