Senior Lecturer
OFFICE OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR
Dr. Selina Ama Saah is a lecturer at the Department of Chemical Sciences, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Ghana. She holds a BSc. (Hons) Chemistry, MPhil Polymer Science and Technology and PhD Inorganic Chemistry degrees from KNUST. Her postgraduate research was centered around the search for efficient nanomaterials which can be used as absorbers in solar cells. This entails the syntheses of metal-organic complexes that can be used as single-source precursors for the syntheses of metal chalcogenide semiconducting nanoparticles and thin films. The research was carried out at the University of Manchester and University of Zululand with funding from the Leverhulme Royal Society Africa Awards and Royal Society DFID African Capacity Building Schemes. She is passionate about nanomaterial research and training the next generation of chemists. Currently, she lectures in inorganic chemistry courses which includes coordination chemistry, and symmetry and group theory. Her other research interest includes water chemistry, food chemistry and environmental chemistry.
Dr. Saah is an active member of Organization of Women in Science in Developing countries (OWSD), Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (WiSTEM) Ghana, Ghana Science Association (GSA), Africa Network for Solar Energy and Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). Dr. Selina Ama Saah also likes to mentor and motivate the younger generation.
