Animal Production and Health
Christian Asumah holds MSc. from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi-Ghana, 2015). He is currently a lecturer with the department of Animal Production and Health (DAPH), Dormaa Campus. Christian has vast experience in the area of poultry production using both closed and open sided housing systems. He has managed commercial poultry farms both in Ghana and Nigeria.
His area of research focuses on characterization and improvement of indigenous poultry stock. His area of research is geared towards improvement of naked neck and frizzle birds in the tropics. Christian has undertaken several consultancy services in the area of commercial poultry management. He has served as a facilitator for the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on issues related to nutrition and antibiotic resistance in poultry.
He is currently on the Italian-Ghana government Okuafo Pa agribusiness Project. Presently, He is a PhD candidate working on molecular characterization of indigenous Ghanaian chickens.
