Jennifer Naa Jaaga, a Principal Administrative Assistant at the University Relations Office (URO) of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) stood as a beacon of excellence by winning two awards at the recent Registrar’s Offices Welfare Scheme (ROWS) Awards Ceremony held on August 17, 2023, at the Sheila’s Executive Hotel.
Out of the total of nine (9) awards, Miss Jaaga stood out as a shining star, securing not just one, but two awards. Her exceptional dedication and hard work were recognized as she won both the Overall Best Senior Staff and the Best Female Senior Staff awards.
In her speech as the Overall Best Senior Staff, Miss. Jennifer Naa Jaaga dedicated the award to God and extended her heartfelt appreciation to her supervisors, colleagues and subordinates for their continued support. On behalf of the awardees, Ms. Jaaga thanked the Registrar’s Offices Welfare Scheme for recognizing their hard work and dedication. She urged her fellow Senior Staff to keep working diligently towards the growth of the University.
The event also saw the Head and Deputy Registrar of the University Relations Office, Mr. Alfred Ohenenana Appiah earned the prestigious Andrew Kwasi Boateng Leadership and Mentorship Awards; Ms. Abigail Yeboah-Kyereh, an Assistant Registrar also at the URO received the Best Female Senior Member; and the Solomon Panford Most Promising Staff went to Mr. Emmanuel Appiah, a Senior Administrative Assistant (Graphic Design), URO.
Dr. John Kwasi Annan, an Assistant Registrar at the Human Resources Division won the Best Male Senior Member; Principal Administrative Assistants, Mr. Clifford Asomah Kyere and Mr. Clement Gyamfi received the Best Performing Central Administrative Staff and the Best Performing Faculty Staff respectively. Mr. Akwasi Hinneh Boateng on the other hand was the recipient of the Best Male Senior Staff.
Ms. Jaaga is a Communication and Administrative professional with over 4 years of experience in University administration focusing on administrative duties, public relations and journalism. At the University Relations Office, she is responsible for creating and writing news content on the University’s events for the University’s website and newsletters. She also assists in the daily administrative activities of the office.
She has a Master of Public Administration from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Cape Coast (UCC). She is an Affiliate Member of the Institute of Public Relations Ghana (IPRG), a Member of Women in Public Relations (WiPR), a Member of the American Society of Administrative Professionals (ASAP) and an Alumna of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI) programme.
Jennifer is a youth and community development enthusiast passionate about building her career in communication.
