The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) is proud to announce that it has been awarded Institutional Accreditation by the Accreditation Agency for Study Programmes in Engineering, Informatics, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics (ASIIN e.V.). This achievement underscores UENR’s commitment to academic excellence and international standards.
About ASIIN
Founded in July 1999, ASIIN is a globally recognized non-profit organization that accredits academic programmes and institutions. Renowned for its rigorous standards, ASIIN focuses on engineering, natural sciences, mathematics, computer sciences, medicine, and economics. Its certification assures stakeholders, students, employers, and educators of the quality and relevance of academic and professional offerings.
The Accreditation Journey
UENR embarked on this journey in 2021 to align its academic and institutional standards with global benchmarks. The collaborative efforts of the Regional Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability (RCEES) and the Quality Assurance and Academic Planning Directorate (QAAPD) were instrumental in navigating the process.
Key milestones in UENR’s ASIIN accreditation process include:
- January 16, 2022, ASIIN and UENR finalized the Accreditation Agreement.
- On July 25, 2023, UENR submitted its Final Self-Evaluation Report, a critical document showcasing the University’s adherence to ASIIN’s rigorous standards.
- August 27–30, 2023, an international expert team led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Richard Korff from the University of Applied Sciences Münster conducted an on-site assessment. The review covered both institutional accreditation and the RCEES academic programme.
- On March 21, 2024, ASIIN’s Accreditation Commission formally granted UENR Institutional Accreditation.
