Dr. Nana Osei Ackerson is a Lecturer in environmental engineering at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He holds a BSc in Agricultural Engineering, MSc in Environmental Resources Management, MS in Civil Engineering, and PhD in Environmental Engineering. He worked on the Wellcome Trust funded project, SNOWS (Scientists Networked for Outcomes from Water and Sanitation) Consortium, as a Project Manager. Also, he was the Assistant City Facilitator for the European Commission project, SWITCH (Sustainable Water management Improves Tomorrow’s Cities’ Health) project. Currently, he is the co-Principal Investigator of the WaterAid, UK research-funded project on occupational health and safety of sanitation workers. He has participated in several international research conferences and workshops. Dr. Ackerson’s research focuses on water supply, sanitation and hygiene; fate and transport of micropollutants in water; risk assessment; and disinfection by-product formation in drinking water. He is opened to interdisciplinary research collaboration.
