Francis Boafo Asamoah is a Principal Technician at the Department of Ecotourism, Recreation, and Hospitality at the University of Energy and Natural Resources. His research focuses on wildlife ecology and management, biodiversity conservation, habitat management, and ecosystem restoration. He has extensive experience in research, fieldwork, and conservation communication.

Francis is actively involved in global conservation policy and youth engagement. He promotes science communication, environmental advocacy, and youth leadership in conservation. He served as Co-Chair of the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration Youth Task Force, Head of the IUCN and CBD sub-commissions, and member of numerous international selection committees. He is an active member of the IUCN SSC Amphibian Specialist Group, Amphibian Survival Alliance, Key Biodiversity Areas Working Group, and the International Forestry Students’ Association (IFSA), among others.

His work bridges scientific research, conservation policy, and youth-driven action to enhance biodiversity conservation and ecosystem resilience.
