UENR AGRIBUSINESS LEVEL 400 STUDENT CROWNED OVERALL WINNER OF AMG FERTILIZERS INPUT DEALER BUSINESS DEAL PITCH, University of Energy and Natural Resources - Sunyani

At the just ended Agrihouse Foundation organized Bootcamp Competition held on 25th May 2024 in Accra, Master Osei Kofi Fosu, a level 400 Agribusiness student of the Department of Agribusiness Management and Consumer Studies of the School of Agriculture UENR had emerged as the overall winner.

His award came with a whopping amount worth GHS 75,000 from the Agricultural Manufacturing Group (AMG) in collaboration with Agrihouse Foundation to establish a cutting-edge input dealer business in the Dormaa Ahenkro Community.

He was in the Competition with 13 other final-year Agribusiness students drawn from various universities and Agriculture Colleges nationwide.

Expressing his profound gratitude to Agrihouse Foundation and AMG Fertilizers for the honour Master Fosu revealed that the bootcamp has transformed and reinforced his belief in the potential of agriculture as a catalyst for economic growth and sustainable development.

He pledged to leverage the support and resources provided by Agrihouse Foundation and AMG Fertilizers to actualise his vision. He indicated that with the requisite support system, hard work, and determination, he could contribute significantly to the agricultural sector and impact his community in Dormaa and the country. In her speech, the Director of Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa congratulated Agrihouse for organizing the Pitch.

She revealed that in the past six (6) years, the annual Bootcamp has supported about 6000 beneficiaries to develop their ideas into businesses, supported Agribusiness companies, recruited smart and fresh graduates, and also contributed to drive and mindset development of young people while exposing them to career paths and opportunities within the Agribusiness value chain.

She expressed optimism that the partnership with the Agricultural Manufacturing Group (AMG), to set-up an Input Dealer Business in any region, for the ultimate winner of the Challenge is a huge milestone and a significant boost in building strategic career paths for young agribusiness professionals, straight after school.

Meanwhile, the final day of the 6-day bootcamp pitch has offered the participants the platform to showcase their plans for developing and sustaining their business ideas over two years.
