UENR Becomes Member of United Nations Academic Impact, University of Energy and Natural Resources - Sunyani

The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) has achieved a significant milestone by becoming a member of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI). The prestigious membership recognizes UENR’s commitment in promoting global priorities in peace, human rights, and sustainable development.

This distinguished community with over 1,600 institutions from 152 countries worldwide collaborates with the United Nations in addressing pressing global challenges. The membership highlights UENR’s dedication in fostering positive change and creating a lasting impact in the field of energy and natural resources.

As a member of UNAI, UENR is required to undertake at least one activity aligned with the ten principles of UNAI in each calendar year. These principles encompass key areas such as education for global citizenship, sustainability, inter-cultural dialogue, and human rights. By adhering to these principles, UENR aims to contribute significantly to the United Nations’ overarching goals.

UENR is expected to actively engage with UNAI by organizing various initiatives, programmes, and events that promote the principles and values that United Nations uphold. The University would work towards creating awareness with able action able strategies on important global issues through its academic and research endeavours.

In order to support UENR’s efforts, the University is authorized to display the UNAI member logo on its website and other materials associated with activities conducted as a UNAI member. This visual representation would serve as a symbol of UENR’s commitment to advancing the goals of UNAI and fostering a better world.

The UNAI membership brings immense opportunities for UENR’s faculty, staff, and students to collaborate with renowned international institutions, participate in global conferences, and contribute to cutting-edge energy and natural resources research. It would also enable UENR to share its accomplishments and experiences within the wider academic community.

This achievement also places UENR to make greater strides in addressing critical energy and natural resource challenges by leveraging on resources, knowledge, and support provided by the United Nations and the extensive UNAI network.
