UENR WELCOMES NEW REGISTRAR, University of Energy and Natural Resources - Sunyani

On Monday, November 6, 2023, the University Management convened a meeting to extend a warm welcome to the recently appointed Registrar of UENR, Dr. (Mrs.) Georgina Asi Owusu.

Chairing the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako disclosed that Dr. (Mrs.) Georgina Asi Owusu will take over from Solomon Panford, Esq. APR, who ended his term of service on October 31, 2023. Prof. Asare-Bediako urged the University Management, staff, and the entire academic community to rally behind the newly appointed Registrar, fostering collective support for the continued progress of the University.

The Vice-Chancellor used the platform to advise the Registrar to maintain focus and reflect on the institution’s advantages in promoting and shaping intellectual development. He concluded by stating that the appointments of a new Registrar, Dean, and Heads of various departments provide an opportunity for a fresh beginning infused with renewed enthusiasm and determination.

In her capacity as the newly appointed Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Georgina Asi Owusu extended her gratitude to the University Council for entrusting her with the chance to contribute to the University. She highlighted her commitment to the University’s advancement and emphasized the importance of teamwork, stating “Where there is teamwork, output is better,” and mentioned that she joined the university to support its expansion.

The Registrar disclosed that she will adopt an open-door leadership approach to involve all members of the University. She expressed optimism about optimizing the limited resources for the university’s improvement. 

Advocating for unity, support, and an embrace of change and innovation, she received enthusiastic endorsement and commitment from the University Management members present, who pledged their support for her administration.
