Vodafone Ghana Committed to Improving Quality Service Delivery to UENR -Director of Vodafone Business

The Director of Vodafone Ghana Business, Mrs. Tawa Borlarin has expressed Vodafone’s commitment to improve the quality of service delivery for the Campuses of UENR. According to Mrs. Borlarin, the telecom giant places much value in serving its customers as such UENR, hence, it will do everything within its capacity to provide the best services to the University. 

The Director was responding to queries by the University Management when a Team of Staff from Vodafone Ghana paid an official visit to the University on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

Both the Sunyani and Dormaa Campuses of the University are said by Management to be experiencing a poor Vodafone network system. The Director further in her speech acknowledged the existing challenges faced by the University and assured that the team is working with the Information Technology Directorate of UENR to address them. 

She rolled out plans to fix the University network system on campus. Notable among the areas mentioned included increased band rate on campus, provision of mobile lines for staff at a discounted rate as well as increased student data package from four (4) gig to nine (9) gig all geared towards facilitating effective communication within the University. She also encouraged students of the University to take advantage of the Vodafone Discovery Graduate Programme and apply for job opportunities at Vodafone.

The Ag. Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John K. M. Kuwornu on behalf of the University Management welcomed and commended the team for their support to the University through the existing relationship. The Ag. Pro Vice-Chancellor was also optimistic that the engagement with the team would strengthen the existing partnership with Vodafone. He, however, emphasized the challenges the University faces with Vodafone network facilities and called for improved services for both campuses of the University by erecting a mast and providing daily service support to the University community in the form of a mini Vodafone shop and café on campus.

The Vodafone team was led by the Account Manager for the two (2) Bono and Ahafo Regions, Mr. Jonas Martinson. Also present on the UENR side was the Registrar, Solomon Panford, Esq., APR as well as some Deans, Directors and Heads of Departments.
