Amankwah Emmanuel

Ing. Prof. Dr. Emmanuel Amankwah started his academic career in 2005 at the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Wa Polytechnic (now Wa Technical University) as a Lecturer. At Wa Technical University, Prof. Amankwah served in various capacities including Departmental Examination Officer, Polytechnic Examination Officer, Industrial Liaison Officer, Head of Department, Vice Dean of Students’ Affairs, and Ag. Dean of School of Engineering among others. He also served twice on the Governing Council of the then Polytechnic. In 2018, Prof. Amankwah joined the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Department of Agricultural and Bioresources Engineering. At the Department, he served as project coordinator, Academic counselor, HoD for two consecutive terms and other many statutory and non-statutory boards and committees. In 2023, Prof. Amankwah was transferred to the Department of Environmental Management, School of Natural Resources. At the School, he served as chairman of the quality assurance and accreditation committee. Besides, he has also served as internal and external assessor for a wide range of post graduate theses. As a panel member of Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) examinations since 2022, an assessor of accreditation programmes for Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), Moderator of examination questions and have consulted for Urban Wastes, GIZ and CTVET for curriculum development, etc. Again, Prof. Amankwah has worked with other colleagues to develop proposals and execute funded projects such as TALIF, CIDA, CIM, BMBF, and EC Horizon 2020 both nationally and internationally. His research interest is in the areas of waste management, soil and water conservation, irrigation, environmental and resources management, agriculture and climate change. He holds a PhD in Environmental Science, MPhil in Environmental and Resources Management (BTU, Germany) and BSc. in Agricultural Engineering (KNUST). He also holds MA in Guidance and Counselling. He is a Licensed Professional Counsellor with special interest in marriage, parenting and educational counselling. Ing. Prof. Amankwah has several publications in reputable journals to his credit.
