Animal Production and Health
Peter Asiedu (Ph.D) is an Animal nutritionist with specialisation in feeding systems and feeding regimes. Peter Asiedu (Ph.D) is a Lecturer at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani Ghana. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Animal Science (Animal Nutrition) from the Cape Coast University. Dr. Asiedu research and teaching focus on ruminant and monogastric nutrition, micro-livestock production, nutritional physiology, fisheries and aquaculture, anatomy and physiology of farm animals. His research also focuses on aassessing the relative nutritional and economic value of conventional and non-conventional feed ingredients, cconduct animal-based studies and laboratory trials and finally investigate nutritional disorders and the safe storage of feed. He has been involved in several donor-funded projects and consultancies which has had significant positive impact on society and the country at large. This include the Livelihood Diversification Support Projects with Tullow Ghana, Skills Development Fund – I and II, West African Agricultural Development Program (WAAPP 1), 1000+ Fresh Milk Project I & II (IFDC), Best Environmental Technology, (Best Canada), 2Scale Project – Fresh Milk Cluster etc. He has serve on a number of national Technical Committees such as the Skills Development Fund (SDF) Procurement committee, Exhibition Sub-committee for ECOWAS trade Fair, Ghana Society of Animal Production (GSAP) Symposium, Local Organizing Committee, Ghana Science Association etc. He has published two manuals, and over 25 articles in internationally and locally recognized peer reviewed journals including International Journal of Scientific Engineering and Applied Science, Bulletin of Animal Health and Production in Africa, Livestock Research for Rural Development, Ghana Journal of Agricultural Science, Journal of Ghana Science Association and Ghanaian Journal of Animal Science. He has also been a key resource person for a lot of the national workshops on agriculture with focus on livestock. Dr. Asiedu is dedicated to his work, He is easy going hardworking. Teamwork is his priority and He is able to work with no or little pressure.
