Elijah Ofori-Badu had his senior secondary school education at Prempeh College in Kumasi between 1998 and 2000. He proceeded to the University of Ghana from 2001 to 2005 for his undergraduate studies, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with Philosophy.
He enrolled again at the University of Ghana between 2006 and 2009 for his Master of Philosophy in Political Science, specializing in Public Administration and Public Policy. He also obtained a Diploma in Education from the University of Education, Winneba in 2013. He further studied Bachelor of Laws at Greenfield College in Sunyani from 2019 to 2022.
In terms of professional qualifications, he was admitted as an Associate Member in December 2016 and later became a Chartered Human Resource Management Practitioner (CHRMP) in October 2021 with the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management. He was enrolled on the Roll of Lawyers in the Republic of Ghana on 11th October 2024.
Elijah Ofori-Badu did his National Service at Mankranso Secondary School in the Ashanti Region from November 2005 to July 2006, where he taught Government and Social Studies. He also taught Government and Social Studies at Presdel College, Kumasi from 2009 to 2012.
He later worked with the Local Government Service from November 2012 to November 2016 as an Assistant Human Resource Manager. During this period, he served at the Offinso North District Assembly, Akomadan-Ashanti, and the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, Kumasi-Ashanti.
He joined the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Ho from December 2016 to August 2018 as a Junior Assistant Registrar with the Vocational Training Unit, and later as Vocational Training Coordinator.
In September 2018, he joined the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani as Assistant Registrar in charge of the Examinations Unit of the Academic and Students Affairs Division. He was promoted to Senior Assistant Registrar in September 2022 and remains in charge of the Examinations Unit. In October 2024, he was transferred to the Academic and Students’ Affairs Division as the Acting Head.
Elijah’s research interests include Public Administration, Public Policy, Non-governmental Organizations and Poverty Reduction, Local Government/Governance Administration, Human Resource Management (particularly Training and Development and Performance Management Systems), Student Admissions, and Examination Malpractices.
Elijah has facilitated a number of training workshops for District Assemblies in the Ashanti Region and within the University. He has also participated in numerous training and development workshops, conferences, and seminars.
