Natural Resources
A Professor of Fisheries and Aquaculture with over 15 years of experience with a deep interest in small-scale fisheries, sustainable aquaculture, fisheries value chain assessment, blue economy, fisheries and ocean governance, marine/aquatic resources conservation, fisheries economics and management, natural resource management and climate change.
As the National Coordinator of the European Union funded Management and Resilience of Small Pelagic Fisheries in West Africa (GREPPAO) project, he is responsible for coordinating work packages, administration, human resources and liaising with actors in the fisheries value chain nationally and within the ECOWAS region.
He previously served as Dean, School of Natural Resources, University of Energy and Natural Resources, where he was responsible for leading the School’s strategic plan and the general administration of the School with respect to academic, human, financial and material resources of the School within the general framework of the University policy. He liaised with professional institutions, associations and similar bodies both locally and internationally on matters affecting the School.
He has conducted fisheries and aquaculture research/fieldwork in several countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Germany, Italy, Liberia, Nigeria, Mauritius, Senegal and the United Kingdom. He has undertaken a number of research projects and consultancy works for organizations such as AU, EU, EDF, UNIDO, USAID, and OXFAM.
He is an Executive Member of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Society of Ghana, and a Member of Aquaculture without Frontiers. Has to his credit over 90 publications.
