The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA), in collaboration with the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), is hosting a Summer School on Public Policy and Evaluation (SSPPE) for Post-graduate students from January 08, 2024, to January 26, 2024, at the Main Campus of UENR, Sunyani.
The primary learning objective of this summer school is to equip post-graduate students with the necessary skills and knowledge to analyze and evaluate public policies effectively. At the end of this program, participants will be able to:
- understand the policy analysis process and its relevance to policymaking.
- differentiate and apply policy analysis methods and techniques, including quantitative and qualitative methods.
- conduct data analysis using STATA.
- design and implement policy evaluations, using appropriate evaluation methods and effectively communicate outputs.
- establish networks with facilitators through mentorship and collaboration
A team of experienced Ghanaian-born policy analysts and evaluators based at the University of Leiden (The Netherlands), Maastricht University/UNU-MERIT (The Netherlands), The University of Johannesburg (South Africa) and the University of Boston (The USA) and the host lead at UENR (Dr. George Kwadwo Anane) will facilitate the summer school. The facilitators have a wide array of expertise in policy analysis and evaluation, data analysis, and policy-related research.
