A Counselor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Dormaa Campus, Mr. Prince Affum, has called on staff of the University to develop the interest of studying the temperaments and personality traits of their colleagues at work. He said accepting the different behaviours of coworkers would foster unity, love and peaceful co-existence to enhance effective work performance.
Speaking at a forum organized by the Counseling Unit at the Dormaa Campus on the theme “The Role of Temperament in Fostering Unity and Love in UENR,” Mr. Affum bemoaned the failure of many staff to understand, accept or appreciate why their colleagues or superiors at their various offices behave in certain manners that they deem unpleasant and difficult to cope with, a practice he believes contributes to low productivity and poor performance of services within the University and in many organizations.
The programme, which was sponsored by Step-Inn Supermarket, brought together Heads of Departments, Faculty Officers, Senior and Junior administrative staff as they shared chocolates to mark the World’s chocolate day of 14th February annually.
In another development, the Counseling Units of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Dormaa Campus and Sacred Heart Senior School (SAHESS), Nsoatre have held a seminar on effective study skills for over 328 final year students of the school ahead of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
A Counselor at the Dormaa Campus, Mr. Prince Affum in his delivery, conducted a psychological test on the students to determine the study style of each student. He further motivated the students on the need to incorporate their respective learning styles in their studies and how it will help them achieve their academic results. The students were advised by the Counselor to desist from deviant behaviours and other lifestyles that could ruin their future.
The Headmistress of SAHESS, Rev. Sister Benedicta Uzokwe (HHCJ) in her remarks was happy that the students were taken through the therapeutic exercise to build their preparedness towards their forthcoming examinations.
