DR THOMAS MENSAH ADVOCATES FOR INVESTMENT IN INFRASTRUCTURE IN GHANA

The founder of Ghana’s Silicon Valley of the Kofi Annan ICT Center, Dr Thomas Mensah is advocating for investment in infrastructure in Ghana especially in the transport sector of the economy.

The Ghanaian-American Chemical Engineer and Inventor, who contributed to the development of Fiber Optics and Nanotechnology said he is passionate about seeing Ghana develop its road network across the country and extending to neighbouring countries by adopting the High-speed Rail Network System.

Dr Mensah highlighted his plan for Ghana in the Aviation industry and disclosed his collaboration with the Government to build the New Ghana Aviation Hub in Kumasi with Boeing for the establishment of a Maintenance and Repair Aircraft facility for West Africa. Dr Mensah added that plans were underway to transform the Kumasi Airport to International Transport Service Centre serving not only Ghana but also other African countries.

He shared these thoughts in his speech delivered at the 2nd International Conference on Engineering, Applied Sciences and System Modelling organised by the Regional Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability under the University of Energy and Natural Resources.
