The Information Technology Directorate (ITD), in collaboration with the Centre for Professional Development (CePDev), has begun Training Workshop on the NEW STUDENTS INFORMATION SYSTEM, also dubbed ‘Academic Tracker’ from 8th March 2022 to 25th March 2022, for the teaching and administrative staff in Sunyani and Dormaa campuses.

During her opening remarks on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, the Acting Director of CePDev, Dr (Mrs) Mercy Derkyi stated that for flexibility and further enhancement on professional development, the IT Directorate has come up with a new system – Academic Tracker to replace the old University Student Information System (USIS). She indicated that some challenges and limitations that the old system had, necessitated the change.

To make the training more efficient, the various Schools were divided into groups, and participants were given hands-on training using their laptops and smartphones. The training was spearheaded by the Director of IT- Mr. Robert Cudjoe. The lead facilitator is Mr. Gilbert K. Mensah, Head of Software Division and a team of co-facilitators from the IT Directorate.
