A delegation from New Mexico State University (NMSU) has visited UENR to further strengthen its partnership with the University. The team paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako on May 15, 2023, as part of their visit. The Delegation: Prof. Manoj Shukla, Director of International Programs at NMSU, and Prof. Efren Delgado, Co-Director of the Center of Excellence in Sustainable Food and Agricultural Systems at NMSU were led by Prof. James Owusu-Kwarteng at Department of Horticulture and Crop Production of the School of Agricultural and Technology (SoAT) of UENR.
The NMSU team in a discussion with the Vice-Chancellor and other Management members expressed their gratitude for the warm reception received from UENR and assured their commitment to fostering and sustaining the collaboration.
In his welcome statement, the VC expressed the University’s appreciation for the visit and the valuable collaboration that is expected to unfold between the two institutions.
The meeting which was also attended by Heads of Departments afforded them an opportunity to present to the visiting team, disclosing their interest areas of collaboration. The discussion marked a significant step forward in forging educational and research partnerships in energy, natural resources, agriculture, sciences and technology. Both universities look forward to leveraging their respective expertise and resources to enhance knowledge exchange, research activities, and academic programs for the benefit of students and faculty members.
The delegation also held an interactive session with staff and students at the Dormaa Campus where they presented on NMSU’s programmes, funding opportunities and admission requirements. The meeting was held at the Akuafo Pa Business Centre.
