NEWLY-APPOINTED LECTURERS UNDERGO A ONE-DAY TRAINING WORKSHOP

Over seventy (70) new Lecturers have attended a workshop to acquaint themselves with the University system on the 10th September 2021 at the University’s New Library Block. The workshop was organized by the Human Resource Division in collaboration with the Centre for Professional Development under the auspices of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako.

The participants were taken through series of topics such as Course Allocation, Time-tabling for Teaching and Examination, Mounting of Courses in the USIS (a practical session) and How to Download and Use Broadsheet for Results Management by Mr. J.D. Ankomah, the University’s Examination Coordinator and Mr. Fredrick Yaw Afrifa Gyasi, a Senior ICT Assistant at the IT Directorate.

Giving his opening remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako stressed the need for the training. He emphasized that the workshop is to equip them with the requisite knowledge and skills in their career as Lecturers. He encouraged them to be useful to the University and the society as well as contribute their best towards the development of the University. Prof. Asare-Bediako was optimistic that their diligence and hard work would earn the University a name and enhance its corporate image.

In attendance were the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adebayo Felix Adekoya; the Registrar, Solomon Panford, ESQ. APR; the Acting Head of the Human Resource Division, Yvonne Claire Dumenu and the Acting Director for the Centre for Professional Development; Dr. Mrs. Mercy Adutwumwaa Dekyi.
