Officials from Ghana Gas Company on Friday, August 19, 2022, paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako. The visit forms part of the roadshow ahead of this year’s Ghana Gas Challenge.
The Vice-Chancellor was thankful to Ghana Gas for involving academic institutions in their operations. He registered Management’s support and readiness for the impending Gas Challenge and was positive that the School of Energy would excel in the competition. “We are already winners in other contests and this is yet another one to be won and Ghana Gas, just write our name on the trophy because we will win this time around”, he added.
Mr. Enock Asare Ayensu of Ghana Gas in his speech was grateful to their University Management for their availability to partake in the Challenge. He added that the Quiz forms part measures to bridge the gap between industry and academia. He also disclosed that modalities of this year’s competition have been reviewed to be beneficial to all participants and promised Management of a fruitful and interesting competition.
On his part, the Head of the Department, Dr. Yaw Akyampon Boakye-Ansah recounted that last year UENR students performed very well but came up second losing the title to KNUST in a tight contest. He was equally optimistic that his students would emerge victorious in the Challenge, which would come off in the last quarter of the year
