In the quest to add on the existing infrastructure on campus, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako on January 18, 2022 led Management of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) to sign contract on two projects awarded to contractors. The official contract signing of a 4-storey building for the UENR Basic School (UBS), a 3,000-capacity auditorium and procurement of consultants for the new auditorium took place at the University auditorium in Sunyani.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor noted that the projects investment have become necessary since it would aid in teaching and learning activities as well as serve as a good source of Internally Generated Funds (IGF) for the University upon completion. He expressed appreciation to the Bank of Ghana for its commitment to fund the new auditorium. He further appealed for the support of corporate bodies towards the completion of stalled projects on campus.
The Head of Procurement Directorate, Mr. John-Baptist Siddick briefing the University management present, explained that the projects have been duly processed per the Public Procurement Act.
The Contractors on their part assured management of quality work and delivery within the completion period of eight (8) months for the auditorium and 18 months for the University Basic School.
