TWO UENR STUDENTS RECEIVE SCHOLARSHIP

Two undergraduate students of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), have each been awarded scholarship covering tuition and accommodation by the Joseph and Elizabeth Quansah (JEQ) Foundation.

The students, selected on merit, are Mr. Hayford Kankam-Boadu, a level 300, Mechanical Engineering student and Ms. Talitha Anokye, a level 400, Biological Science student who in addition received a laptop.

At a meeting to engage the students and some faculty members, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako, on behalf of University Management expressed his a heartfelt gratitude to the JEQ Foundation and congratulates our dear students for a well deserving award. He advised them to trust in God and commit their endeavors unto his care, and he will not disappointment.

Ms. Talitha Anokye on behalf of her colleague thanked management and the foundation for believing in them to award them the scholarship, which will enable them complete their University education successfully. She was personally happy to meet the Vice-Chancellor, which has been her dream.

Present at the meeting were the Ag. Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adebayor Felix Adekoya, the Registrar, Solomon Panford, Esq., APR, the Dean of School of Engineering, Ing. Prof. Nana Sarfo Derkyi, the Director of Centre for Professional Development, Dr. Mrs. Mercy Derkyi, the Junior Assistant Registrar at Centre for Students’ Skills Enhancement, Mr. David Sekyi Yirenkyi, as well as the Heads of Biological Science, and Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Departments. They advised the awardees to serve as mentors to their colleagues and learn to give back to society as emulated the by the  JEQ Foundation.
