The Regional Bono Regional Minister in her speech assured the University to support in boosting infrastructural facilities on campus, which is one of the core challenges of the University since its inception in 2012. She commended UENR for providing holistic education not only in the classroom but also through the expansion of infrastructure to ensure effective academic and administrative activities on campus. She lauded the University for spearheading the funding of the project through its IGF. This, she said clearly advocates the Ghana Beyond Aid agenda. The Regional Minister further pledged to use every means within her reach to provide the needed infrastructure for the University’s growth.
The Vice-Chancellor in his address at the sod-cutting ceremony admitted that the requisite structures needed to run the University are inadequate. “The University is in dire need of offices for teaching and non-teaching staff, lecture halls to meet our intake of students, conference rooms, and auditoriums for major university programmes such as matriculation and graduation ceremonies”, he added. The Vice-Chancellor, however, anticipated that the construction of the office complex commences the emergence of more physical development on the campuses of the University.
