A Thanksgiving Service Durbar was held on April 2, 2023, to climax the 7th Congregation ceremony and the 10th Anniversary celebration of UENR which was climaxed with a grand durbar. The two events were held on Friday, March 31, 2023, and Saturday, April 1, 2023.
The Service, themed “Sacrifices of praise to our God” (Hebrews 13:15) was graced by Head Pastors from various churches in Sunyani and other areas. The event held at the University field at the Sunyani Campus recorded a massive turnout of staff and students of the University who joined hands and danced to praise God for 10 years of the University’s existence as well as a successful graduation of the 2022 class of students.
Delivering the Sermon according to the theme, the Guest Speaker, Apostle Isaac Nii Kotei Djani, centred the Word on “Salvation and Sacrifice of Praise” as a form of offering one’s self unto God. He believed that as UENR thanked God for its 10th-anniversary celebration, an altar of praise, prayer, God’s presence, power, protection and providence were raised for the University.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako in his closing remarks expressed his appreciation to God for a successful anniversary celebration. He further thanked staff, students, former principal officers of the University, the University Council members and all stakeholders for their immense participation and support towards the Congregation ceremony and 10th-anniversary Grand Durbar. He equally believed the University was on the right path to achieving higher heights for impacting the world.
Various prayers were said for the Staff and Students as well as projects of the University. The Service also recorded donations by some churches in Sunyani towards the University’s hospital project.
