In a quest to solve the inadequate office space for staff at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Management of the University on Wednesday March 9, 2022, awarded a contract  for the construction of a multi-purpose office complex at the Sunyani campus.

The 4-storey multi-purpose building which is expected to be completed within 18 months, is solely to be funded from the University’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF) at a cost of GH¢19 million. It will house over 96 offices, conference rooms among others.

Speaking at the brief ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako, expressed his delight for the plans of Management of the University to construct the multi-purpose office complex, stressing that the University cannot always depend on the government for financial assistance to undertake infrastructural development. He therefore urged staff and members of the University to sacrifice and support its development.

On his part, the contractor of the project, Nana Adu Poku of Messrs. Adujem Company Limited thanked the University Management for opting for his company to put up the building and assured Management of the completion of the project within the stipulated period.
