UENR ORGANIZES 10TH ANNIVERSARY INTER-SCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION

INTER SCHOOL QUIZ

As part of activities to mark the 10th Anniversary Celebration of UENR, the Planning Committee and the Ghana Science Association (UENR Branch) on Thursday, September 8,2022 organized an Inter-school Quiz Competition contested by the seven (7) Schools in the University at the Auditorium.

At the end of a keenly contested competition, the School of Sciences represented by Nasara Umaimah, Sabina Arthur Kwarteng and Maclean Acheampong Yeboah emerged winners by topping in three (3) rounds out of six (6) earning them a total of 155 points against their next contender, School of Energy who came up with 122 points making them the second runner up and the school of engineering placing third with 107 points.

The Acting Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John K.M Kuwornu congratulated the winners at the end of the contest and presented plaques to the winners while the other contestants received certificates of participation.

Mr. Cosmas Rai Amenorvi, a Research Fellow at the Quality Assurance and Planning Directorate was the quiz master and areas of the contest covered general knowledge in science and technology, natural resources, arts, sports, lifestyle and about the University. 

In a related event, UENR on Friday, September 9,2022, played a friendly match with the Sunyani Technical University (STU) at the UENR Football Field. The game also forms part of the series of activities rolled out by the 10th Anniversary Planning Committee to celebrate UENR @ 10.

UENR STU GAMES

Speaking before the start of the match, the Ag. Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. John K.M Kuwornu emphasized that the football game seeks to foster unity among sister institutions and to further strengthen the existing relationship with STU. He called on all the players to put in their best to make their respective institution proud.

At the end of the game, UENR lost by 1 goal to 2 in favour of STU.

Also present on the side of STU were their Vice-Chancellor, Ing. Prof. Kwadwo Adinkrah-Appiah, the Registrar, Mr.  Samuel Ankama Obour as well as other staff and supporters.
