UENR THROUGH THE CENTRE FOR STUDENTS SKILLS ENHANCEMENT HELD THE ULTIMATE CONFERENCE

The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) through the Centre for Students Skills Enhancement has held a 3-day international conference dubbed “The Ultimate Conference”. The conference which was held virtually from 9th to 11th August 2021 was on the theme “Inculcating Employable Skills in Our 21st Century Graduates in Higher Educational Institutions: The Interventions to Resolve the Industry and Academia Gap.” The conference brought together Universities to have a collaborative relationship with industries to leverage the smooth transition of skilled students to the job market.

Some of the topics discussed at the conference are:

  1. “Challenges of Higher Institutions in Africa and the Needed Interventions to Bridge the Employability Gap between the Industry and Academia.”
  2. “The Need for African Universities to Revise its Curriculum in Preparing today’s Graduates to be Equipped for the 4th Industrial Revolution and Artificial Intelligence”.
  3. “Training Session for Student Skills Enhancement within the Areas of Interview Grooming, Presentation Skills, CV Writing and Emotional Intelligence.”
