To strengthen and deepen the existing ties between University Management and the student front, the University Relations Office (URO) organized an interactive engagement with the student leadership at the Sunyani Campus on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. The event offered a conducive environment for strategizing to strengthen existing linkages to co-exist as a University.

The Deputy Registrar and Head of URO, Mr. Alfred Ohenenana Appiah, emphasized the need for students to familiarize themselves with the university system and play various strategic roles in enhancing the image and identity of the University. The meeting was attended by representatives from the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana -UENR Chapter (GRASAG), the Executives of Students Representative Council (SRC), and the Executives of UENR Chapter of the National Union of Ghana Students, (Local NUGS).
The Meeting offered a conducive platform for the parties to openly and freely discuss various issues in an all-inclusive administration to fortify the growth agenda of the University. Issues raised and discussed included delay in the issuance of student Identification Cards, circulation of different versions of university insignia (logo), event organization on campus, Student bloggers and photographers among others.
Addressing their concerns, Mr. Appiah appreciated the leadership role played by the students for the University to continually enjoy the peaceful and serene environment conducive to teaching, learning and research. He acknowledged University’s Management efforts in building the University to an enviable height to favourably compete globally. He assured them that the issues discussed would be acted upon and urged the Leadership to be good ambassadors of the University.
The students’ Leadership expressed their appreciation for the interactive engagement and urged for it to be organized periodically. All the parties present affirm the need for deeper collaboration to work as a team for the betterment of the University.
