SIC INSURANCE PLC PRESENTS A CHEQUE OF FIFTY THOUSAND TO SUPPORT A LUBE BAY PROJECT AT UENR

The SIC Insurance PLC has presented a cheque worth Fifty Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH¢50,000) to the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, to support the construction of a Lube Bay at the University. The event took place when the Managing Director, Mr. Stephen Kwame Oduro together with other management members of the Company paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Elvis Asare-Bediako at his office on 1st September 2021.

Mr. Oduro speaking before the presentation of the cheque, said the visit was to first interact with the Vice-chancellor and find ways of strengthening the existing partnership with the University. He further revealed the Company has been in business with UENR since 2013 and they deemed it appropriate to contribute their quota towards the development of the University. He also registered the company’s continued support to UENR as their key client.

Expressing his appreciation to the visitors, The Vice-Chancellor acknowledged that as public institutions, it is thoughtful for both parties to engage in a partnership to support the public sector’s development. He was pleased with the benevolence of the Company and noted that it was a good indication the Company has UENR at heart. He urged the Managing Director to consider UENR students for internship. Also, the Vice-Chancellor was optimistic that the University would play its role to make the relationship with SIC a solid one.

Other staff of SIC Insurance PLC present included the Head of Corporate Affairs, Nana Yaw Mantey; the Regional Manager (Sunyani), Ms. Mercy Dankwah. The other management members of UENR present were the Ag. Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adebayor Felix Adekoya; the Registrar, Solomon Panford, Esq.; and the Deputy Director of Finance, Mr. Paul Nana Nketiah.
