Staff Under Registrar’s Offices Undergo Training on Contemporary Administrative Practices, University of Energy and Natural Resources - Sunyani

To enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of administrative processes, the Administrative Staff under the Registrar’s Offices of the University of Energy and Natural Resources have undergone training on contemporary administrative practices in higher education. The initiative aimed to equip participants with contemporary administrative practices in higher education settings.

Under the leadership of Dr. (Mrs) Georgina Asi Owusu, the Registrar of UENR, the training session was designed to ensure that administrative personnel remain abreast of current trends and best practices within the higher education landscape. Dr. Asi Owusu emphasized that the objective wasn’t solely focused on individual skill enhancement but rather on fostering a culture of excellence and innovation among the administrative staff.

The training was facilitated by Mrs. Alberta Yaa Graham, the Director of the Directorate of Consular and General Services at the University of Cape Coast, who served as the resource person. Mrs. Graham provided invaluable insights into crucial topics such as Administrative Write-ups, Committee Meeting Proficiency (Before, During, and After Committee), and the importance of punctuality and knowledge in work delivery.

Further in her delivery, Mrs. Graham highlighted the pivotal role administrators play in the progress of any organization, stressing the significance of punctuality, knowledge, and professionalism in their roles. Participants also received detailed presentations on essential tasks such as writing letters, memorandums, minutes, and preparing for meetings. Mrs. Graham emphasized the importance of confidentiality, teamwork, work ethics, and specific duties of staff at various offices. She underscored that effective administration requires a blend of skills, qualities, and strategies that contribute to successful management and leadership within an organization.
