Qualifications: Ph.D. in Crop Science (University of Education, Winneba, Ghana), MPhil. Agronomy (University of Education, Winneba, Ghana). BSc. General Agriculture (Crop Science Education Major, University of Education, Winneba. Ghana).

Dr. Atakora is currently a lecturer in the Department of Horticulture and Crop Production, Sunyani, Ghana. He is a team player and dedicated to his work and has an excellent interpersonal relationship with colleagues, subordinates, and superiors. He is always eager to learn new techniques and apply them to solve farmers’ problems. He has a solid background in Crop production strategies, Physiology, plant-soil relations, nutrient sources for crop growth, climate change effects on Agriculture, Yield stability methods, and Integrated Nutrient Management for horticultural crops. Due to his hard work, he can meet very tight and difficult deadlines and has a passion to achieve desired results on time.
Dr. Atakora’s research and teaching focus on integrated nutrient sources for crop growth, Multi locational trials on climatic effect on crops, and yield stability. He has published articles in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals and has also been a reviewer for some international peer-reviewed journals including African Journal of Agricultural Research, International Journal of Plant and Soil Science, Journal of Experimental Agriculture International, Journal of Advances in Biology & Biotechnological and Asian Research Journal of Agriculture. He has also been involved in National and international assignments such as baseline survey for Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa.¬ T-TEL Ghana, Course Lead and Chief Examiner for Colleges of Education affiliated to KNUST. He is also the Project Lead for the Ghana Agricultural Luban Workshop-A collaboration between Liaoning Agricultural Technical College in China and the University of Energy and Natural Resources-Ghana. He has strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as written and verbal communication
