Dr. Alfred Kpebbesaan Bienibuor is a Geophysicists and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Sciences, School of Sciences at the University of Energy and Natural Resources. He joined the department in January, 2016 as a Part-time Assistant lecturer and transitioned to a Full-time Assistant lecturer in February, 2018 and consequently a lecturer in 2020. He is currently the Head of the Department of Chemical Sciences, spanning from August, 2025 to July, 2027; having previously served as the departmental examinations officer from 2019 to 2025. He also served as Chairman for the School of Sciences Sports Committee from 2018 to 2021 and as chairman or member to many committees of the university. Dr. Bienibuor also contributes to the academic community by reviewing for journals such as Academia Environmental Sciences and Sustainability, and Desalination and Water Treatment.
Dr. Bienibuor obtained his BSc. Physics, MSc. Geophysics and PhD Geophysics degrees from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2011, 2015 and 2023 respectively. His research areas are groundwater exploration and quality assessment, Groundwater dynamics modelling and reservoir characterization, Soil and environmental quality assessment of different geological environments, and geotechnical investigation. He has over 9 years of teaching and research experience and has so far supervised over 13 undergraduate students. He is a member of the Ghana Science Association (GSA) and the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
