PROFILE
Dr. Azumyarn Asako Joseph is a Ghanaian academic, fire safety professional, agroforestry researcher, pastor in Fountain Gate Chapel, and disaster management expert with extensive experience in fire science, wildfire management, safety engineering, environmental management, and education. He currently serves as Acting Head and Lecturer in the Department of Fire Safety and Disaster Management at the University of Energy and Natural Resources. He also serves as the Board Chairman of the Ghana Grains and Legumes Development Board.
He holds a PhD in Agroforestry from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, with research focus on fire dynamics and the effectiveness of firefighting systems within the dry and humid savannah ecological zones of Ghana. His multidisciplinary background combines engineering physics, disaster management, technical education, and fire safety training.
Dr. Joseph is passionate about contributing to forest management, reforestation, wildfire mitigation, land restoration, and the advancement of fire and safety engineering to solve societal and industrial problems. He is widely recognized for his commitment to teaching, mentoring, leadership, and community development.
A self-motivated and result-oriented professional, he possesses strong interpersonal, analytical, and leadership skills. He adapts effectively to challenging environments, works efficiently with minimal supervision, and consistently demonstrates high ethical standards and dedication to excellence.
