Dr. (Mrs.) Abena Owusu Adjapong is a Lecturer in the Department of Ecotourism, Recreation, and Hospitality at the School of Natural Resources, UENR. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Management (Wildlife and Range Management Option) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), a Master of Science in Natural Resources (Sustainable Environmental Management) from the University of Greenwich, United Kingdom, and a PhD in Wildlife and Range Management from KNUST.

Specializing in wildlife ecology and conservation, Dr. (Mrs.) Adjapong’s expertise lies in wildlife ecology, management, and conservation. Her research focuses on understanding the impacts of human activities on natural ecosystems and their effects on wildlife. She is particularly interested in collaborative natural resource management for community development, focusing on mammals, invertebrates, birds, and the social dimensions of wildlife conservation.

Dr. (Mrs.) Adjapong has successfully secured grants and funds, including the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) Gender Grants in 2023, the Mohamed bin Zayed Species Conservation Fund in 2017, the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship to the University of Greenwich, UK, in 2008, and the British American Tobacco Biodiversity Partnership through the Tropical Biology Association. She has also benefited from the Erasmus+ KA171 for Higher Education Staff Mobility at Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, Poland. Additionally, she is a member of the Small Mammal Specialist Group (SMSG) of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
