Dr. Owusu Nyarko-Boateng holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Accra Technical University. He studied BSc Computer Science and PGDE at Catholic University College, Sunyani-Ghana, MSc Information Technology at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi-Ghana and PhD Computer Science from the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani-Ghana. He holds CISCO Fundamentals of Fiber Optics Technology (FFOT) and CISCO Optical Technology Advanced (OPT300) v2.0 certificates. He has worked as a field operation engineer on GSM transmission systems, including BTS and WCDMA infrastructure, for over ten years at MTN and Huawei Technology (SA) in Ghana. He is currently a lecturer at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Sunyani-Ghana. His research interest is in Optical Technology, Submarine and Underground fiber optics cable transmission, Access Networks, MIMO, WiMAX, Spread Spectrum Technologies, 5G, data communication, cognitive science, intelligent transmission systems, deploying machine learning in tracing faults in network infrastructure, Wireless Sensor Networks and ICT Policy formulations and deployment. Owusu Nyarko-Boateng has attended several international events, including a Subsea Optical Fiber Communications International Summer School – Subsea 2019 in Finland. He is a member of the Optica Foundation (Formerly OSA), Institute of ICT Professionals, Ghana (IIPGH) and Computing Research Association of Ghana (CRAG). Owusu Nyarko-Boateng teaches the following courses: Expert Systems, Network and Wireless Systems, Wireless and Ad-Hoc Network Servers and Network Infrastructure, Data Communications, Advanced Network Security, Management Information Systems, Information Security, Advanced Network Principles.
