Dr. Peter Damoah-Afari is a Geospatial Scientist by profession. He is interested in the use of geospatial technologies in finding lasting solutions to the many spatially-related and environmental problems facing our societies. He started his academic career as a Teaching/Research Assistant (in 1995) and later as a Lecturer (in 1999), at the Department of Geodetic Engineering (now Department of Geomatic Engineering) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.

Dr. Damoah-Afari holds a Ph.D. degree in Geodesy, specializing in Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar or SAR Interferometry (InSAR), from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HK PolyU) in Hong Kong; an M.Sc. degree in Geoinformation Systems for Cadastral Applications from the International Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences (now Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Sciences) (ITC) in The Netherlands; and a B.Sc. (Hons) degree in Geodetic Engineering from KNUST, Ghana.

He is an experienced Geospatial Scientist and has worked in different organizations in Hong Kong as a Senior Surveyor, CAD Surveyor, Director of Geomatics and Photogrammetry, and an Assistant Project Engineer.

He is active in serving both the professional community and the traditional society. He is currently the Sanaahene (Financial Secretary) of the Dormaa Traditional Area with stool name Baffour Dr. Kwadwo Damoah-Afari.

• SAR Interferometry for Deformation Monitoring and Measurements.
• Integration of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing for Environmental Monitoring.
• Application of Hyperspectral Remote Sensing for Vegetation, Mineral, and Pollution Mapping
• Land Registration and Cadastre for Sustainable Development
