PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Esther Owusuaa is a committed Ghanaian education professional with a strong academic background in Social Sciences, specializing in Economics and Business Management. She holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Cape Coast, where she developed a solid foundation in teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and learner-centered education.
Her academic interests focus on effective methods of teaching economics, particularly at the basic education level. She is passionate about exploring innovative and practical approaches that enhance students’ understanding of economic concepts, promote critical thinking, and connect classroom learning to real-life situations. Her interest lies in learner-centered strategies, activity-based learning, and the integration of technology to improve engagement and academic outcomes in economics education.
Esther has been serving as a teacher at the University of Energy and Natural Resources Basic School since 2021. In this role, she facilitates teaching and learning, maintains discipline, and contributes to the holistic development of learners. Her teaching approach emphasizes clarity, interaction, and the use of relatable examples to simplify complex economic ideas for young learners. She previously completed her National Service at the same institution, where she gained practical experience in classroom management and instructional delivery.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Esther actively contributes to institutional development through leadership and administrative roles. She is currently a Board Member and Welfare Committee Member of the University of Energy and Natural Resources Basic School. She also serves as Secretary to the Committee of the University of Energy and Natural Resources Co-operative Credit Union, where she supports organizational coordination and decision-making processes.
Esther’s leadership experience dates back to her university years, where she served as Vice President of the Education Students Association of Ghana at the University of Cape Coast. She also held roles as Diaspora Coordinator for the Christ Apostolic Church and Secretary for an Area Youth group, demonstrating her commitment to service, teamwork, and community engagement.
In addition to her professional career, Esther has entrepreneurial experience as the founder of Estee Collections Enterprise, where she engaged in trading cosmetics and unisex clothing. This has strengthened her practical understanding of business and economic principles, which she incorporates into her teaching.
She possesses strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, and is proficient in Micros oft Office applications. Esther is dedicated, adaptable, and committed to continuous professional development. She is driven by a desire to inspire learners, promote quality education, and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of economics education in Ghana.
