Biography

Dr. Musah Alhassan is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR), Sunyani, Ghana. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
His research lies at the intersection of electromagnetic engineering, emerging technologies in power systems, applied physics, and computational modeling. It also extends to wireless communications and applied electromagnetic systems.
Dr. Alhassan has taught at universities and technical institutions in Ghana and Saudi Arabia, including Ghana Communication Technology University, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Tamale Technical University, etc., through lectures, laboratory sessions, and tutorials. His courses span power systems analysis and control, electrical machines, high-voltage engineering, Control systems, smart grid and renewable energy resources, applied electricity, electronics, electromagnetic engineering, microwave engineering, and applied physics in engineering. His teaching philosophy centers on guiding students from fundamental principles to confident engineering problem-solving. Because students arrive with different levels of preparation, he introduces difficult concepts in stages. He begins with the physical idea, develops the mathematical model, demonstrates its application, and then has students solve problems independently. He treats theory, physical interpretation, computation, laboratory work, and real-world application as connected parts of one learning process.
Before entering academia, Dr. Alhassan built over a decade of industry experience. He was Operations Director at Neretva Ghana Limited (2016–2019), overseeing electrical installation, servicing, and maintenance. He then served as Dispatch and Incident Manager at Ericsson AB Ghana Limited (2014–2016), where he managed and resolved technical incidents. Earlier, at Millicom Ghana Limited (2009–2014), he was a Network Operations Support Engineer and Supervisor responsible for the stability and performance of Radio Access Network (RAN), Circuit-Switched Core (CS-Core), and Packet-Switched Core (PS-Core) networks.
This mix of academic and industry experience lets him connect engineering theory with practical application in both teaching and research.
