Dr Norshie has been a member of staff with the Department of Horticulture and Crop Production since 2018 and has 6 years of teaching experience in Plant Pathology and Crop Protection. Dr Norshie obtained a Ph.D and MSc in Nematology from Harper Adams University in the UK and Ghent University in Belgium, respectively.
Teaching engagements have involved Introductory Plant Pathology and Research Methods (Bachelor and Diploma) and Advanced Plant Pathology, Plant Nematology and Nematode Diseases, Pesticide Science, and Seed Pathology (MPhil and PhD).
Dr Norshie’s research activities are focused on the management of diseases caused by Meloidogyne spp. Phytophthora spp., control of insect pests using entomopathogenic nematodes, and evaluation of chemical and non-chemical pest controlling molecules for efficacy and environmental profiling (persistence and sorption in soil).
