Patrick Opare Sakyi is a lecturer at the Department of Chemical Sciences where teaches courses in the area of organic chemistry. His areas of specialization includes Computer Aided Drug Design, Organic Synthesis, Natural Products Chemistry, Chemical Biology, and Medicinal Chemistry.

Patrick’s research interests comprises but not limited to application of computational tools in the development of novel and efficient therapeutic agents for all forms of diseases especially neglected tropical diseases. He explores key pharmacophores from natural products in the design of new drug candidates against neglected diseases. He further synthesizes these novel drug candidates for bioactivity analysis.
